Maya

Mirror collection for HAY

Maya is an eclectic collection of 13 different geometrical mirrors that can be used individually or in clusters to make a constellation. Shaped like jewels, in diamond, oblong, octagon, almond, drop and circles the mirrors can be combined in endless configurations to create  wall installations. Maya mirrors are made from laser cut glass set in cast aluminium frames. The initial idea was part of a project for Arken Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen 2012. Doshi Levien were commissioned to design the “reading room” as part of the India Art Now exhibition. The studio created an expanse of wall mirrors with the idea of bringing the steely grey sky of Denmark into the space. Doshi Levien showed the mirrors to HAY and they loved them enough to make them part of their collection.
